Domain Analysis (DA) constitutes an important theoretical-methodological perspective of Knowledge Organization and Representation (KOR), as it provides contextual elements that emphasize the social, historical and cultural dimensions of the processes, instruments and products involved. To this end, we discuss the interdisciplinary dialogues that can be established between Domain Analysis and Discursive Communities, Epistemic Communities, Metatheory and Invisible Colleges.

José Augusto Chaves Guimarães is the founder and past president of the Brazilian chapter of ISKO. He is a former member of the ISKO Executive Board and Organizer and Chair of the 14th International ISKO Conference at Rio de Janeiro (2016). Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science at São Paulo State University. Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science at Fluminense Federal University. Invited Foreign Professor at Université de Lille (2016). Member of Scientific Committees of ISKO Chapter conferences (NASKO, United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal, France and Brazil) and of International ISKO Conferences. Head of the Research Group "Education and professional practice in information production and organization", Member of the Research Group on Ethics in knowledge organization (held at the Université de Lille).
