Auto-Transcription Policy for Meetings & Events

ASIS&T is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for all members and participants. To support this commitment, the following policy governs the use of auto-transcription and closed captioning in ASIS&T-hosted meetings and events conducted via Zoom.

  1. Closed Captioning & Transcription

    • ASIS&T will enable closed captioning and ensure that an auto-generated transcription is captured for all meetings and events hosted in an ASIS&T Zoom room.
    • Live captions will be available to participants during the meeting/event to enhance accessibility.

  2. Third-Party Bot Requests

    • To maintain security and privacy, ASIS&T will decline all requests from third-party transcription bots or similar automated tools attempting to join ASIS&T Zoom meetings or events.

  3. Access to Meeting Transcripts

    • Individuals who wish to obtain a copy of a transcript following an ASIS&T Zoom meeting or event may request one by emailing the ASIS&T staff member responsible for the event.
    • Transcripts will be provided as available and in accordance with ASIS&T's privacy and data protection policies.

This policy ensures that ASIS&T meetings and events remain accessible while protecting participant privacy and data security.
