We’re excited to introduce the members of the 2024-2025 NEASIS&T Executive Committee! This talented group of professionals is committed to supporting our chapter’s mission and goals for the coming year. Each leader brings a unique set of skills and experiences to their roles, and we look forward to working together with all of you to continue building our vibrant and engaged NEASIS&T community!

Grete Graf, Chair
Grete Graf is serving as NEASIS&T Chair for 2024-2025. She is also a Digital Preservation Librarian at Yale Library, where she helps manage the Library’s digital preservation system and works closely with staff members across Yale’s libraries, archives, and museums to safeguard their digital assets for the long term. Her interests include digital preservation, data visualization, and web archiving. Grete has been active in NEASIS&T since 2018, holding several roles including 2023-2024 Programming Director, 2021 Conference Chair, Chapter Secretary and a member of the Programming Committee. As chair, Grete is focused on supporting chapter governance and goals development, strengthening membership engagement, and fostering collaboration. She looks forward to getting to know you all better over the next year!
Ayiana Crabtree, Chair-Elect
Ayiana Crabtree is the NEASIS&T Chair Elect for 2024-2025. Outside of NEASIS&T, Ayiana is a Student Success Librarian at SUNY Polytecnic Institute, helping to increase student engagement with the library. Within their role, Ayiana works on creating promotional materials, informational videos, teaching library and research introduction sessions to first year seminars, and looking into the ways that AI is impacting libraries. As co-chair, Ayiana is focused on getting to know the chapter and is excited to see what the next year holds!
Louisa Choy, Digital Media and Communications Director
Louisa Choy is NEASIST’s Digital Media and Communications Director, managing the website and maintaining communications about the chapter’s events and activities. She is also the Electronic Resources and Systems Librarian at University of Massachusetts Boston. Louisa has been involved with ASIS&T, especially the Northeast (formerly New England) chapter, for over a decade in various roles, including member, webmaster, program committee member, program committee co-chair, and chapter co-chair. Louisa notes, “ASIS&T has been a valuable professional community, offering exposure to a wide range of information science topics I don’t encounter in my daily work. As we specialize in our careers, it’s easy to become siloed in niche areas, but ASIS&T helps me stay connected to the broader information science field.”
William Lundmark, Treasurer and Alternate Assembly Representative
Bill Lundmark serves as the NEASIS&T Treasurer and Alternative Assembly Representative, where he is responsible for managing the chapter’s finances and monitoring expenditures. As Alternate Assembly Representative, he also represents our chapter at the ASIS&T Chapter Assembly as needed. Beyond NEASIS&T, Bill is the Electronic Resources Librarian and Liaison to Health Sciences and Psychology at Worcester State University in Worcester, MA. He has an MLIS from Long Island University’s Palmer School, an MA in Creative Writing from City College, CUNY, and a BA in Literature from Purchase College, SUNY.
Saira Soroya, Programming Director
Saira Soroya is the NEASIS&T Programming Director. In this role, she chairs the Programming Committee and works with the committee members to plan the Chapter’s annual conference, as well as other programming activities and events throughout the year. Saira is also an Associate Professor in the Information & Library Science department at Southern Connecticut State University.
Over the course of her seven years with ASIS&T, Dr. Saira made significant contributions to both SIG III and SIG USE. She dedicated four years of service to SIG III, where she held various key roles, including IPC Jury member, InfoShare member, InfoShare chair, and Newsletter Officer. Later, she transitioned to SIG USE, serving as co-chair of the Awards Committee for two consecutive terms, from 2021 to 2023. In 2024, Dr. Saira expanded her involvement with NEASIS&T as Programming Director, following her appointment at Southern Connecticut State University. Her decision to join the US Northeast chapter reflects her commitment to supporting the local professional community.
Shannon Yiannaki, Chapter Secretary
Shannon Yiannaki is serving as the Chapter Secretary for NEASIS&T where she is responsible for maintaining Chapter documentation and Executive Committee meeting minutes and assisting with member communications. Shannon is a Licensure Specialist and Customer Service for the Ohio Department of Health.
Jenny Yuan, Membership & Outreach Director
Jenny Yuan is the NEASIS&T Membership & Outreach Director. In this role, she leads the chapter’s membership recruitment and retention efforts, communicating with current and prospective members within the Northeast region. Beyond NEASIS&T, Jenny is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity, and a Faculty Fellow of the Center for Technology in Government at University at Albany, State University of New York. Her research and teaching interests include both Human Computer Interaction and Information Retrieval, with the focus on user interface design and evaluation and human information behavior. Her research has been published in journals in the field of information retrieval and human computer interaction and conferences in computer science and information science. Jenny has been a member of the ASIS&T community for over 20 years. Recently, she served in the SIGUSE (Special Interest Group on Information Seeking and Use) as an award committee co-chair for several years. She was the SIGUSE Chair-elect in 2022-2023, and SIGUSE Chair in 2023-2024. She also currently serves as the SIG Cabinet Steering Committee Member.
