NEASIS&T Executive Committee Recap – December 2024
Hi NEASIS&T members!
We’re excited to begin sharing periodic recap posts to keep everyone informed about the activities of the Executive Committee and upcoming events from the Programming Committee. Here’s what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks.
Chapter Member Business Meeting
A big thank you to everyone who attended our Chapter Member Business Meeting on November 12! For those who weren’t able to attend, the recording and slides are available on iConnect here. Please feel free to check them out!
Communication Plan for 2024-2025
The Executive Committee met on December 2 and discussed a comprehensive communication plan that Louisa Choy, our Digital Media and Communications Director, has developed for the coming year. One of our key priorities as an Executive Committee will be to provide more frequent and consistent updates on our website and iConnect site, with cross-promotion to other channels. We will also be streamlining our event publicity processes to help get the word out more broadly about our upcoming events. We’re grateful to Louisa for her excellent work, and it will be a huge help to our chapter going forward!
We’re also eager to find ways to highlight the research, awards, and other activities of our chapter members on our website and blog. If any of you have recently published, presented, received a grant or award, or have another professional accomplishment you’d like to share with us, please reach out to us via email to neasist@gmail.com. We’d love to help showcase your work!
Our current blog series will highlight this year’s conference support award recipients so please keep an eye out on our blog over the next few weeks for posts sharing their experiences at the ASIS&T Annual Conference.
2025 NEASIS&T Annual Conference
Under the leadership of Programming Director Saira Soroya, the Programming Committee is busy planning our 2025 Annual Conference, which will be held on Tuesday, April 1. This year’s theme is: “Voices Through Data: Integrating Information Science, Storytelling, and Digital Literacy.” The Committee is currently accepting proposals for presentations, panels, workshops and lightning talks/posters. If you or someone you know might like to contribute, please submit a proposal here. We’d love to feature some of our Chapter members among this year’s speakers!
Happy Holidays!
As this year wraps up, we wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year. We look forward to all the exciting work ahead in 2025 and beyond!
Stay tuned here and to our website for more updates, and thank you for being part of our NEASIS&T community!
All the best,
Grete Graf
Chair, NEASIS&T Executive Committee
