All Canada Chapter members are cordially invited to attend a Canada Chapter social event on Saturday Oct 26th from 8 to 9:30 pm to be held in the Doll/Herald Room, 3rd Floor of the Hyatt conference hotel. Beer, wine, soft drinks and desserts to be served. Please mark your calendars accordingly!
As you may know, the Canada Chapter is in its early stages of development. A well-attended meeting for the Chapter was held at last year's ASIS&T's Annual Meeting in London, UK. One outcome of that meeting was a resolution to host a social event at this year's Annual Meeting in Calgary. The goal of this social event is to rally interest in the Chapter, but, more importantly, to signal Canada's leadership in Information Science and Technology research and practice to the international community.
We kindly thank the following universities (listed in alphabetical order) for their generous financial support that has allowed us to make this social event possible:
• Dalhousie University, Department of Information Science (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
• Université de Montréal, École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l'information (Montreal, Quebec)
• University of Alberta, School of Library and Information Studies (Edmonton, Alberta)
• University of British Columbia, School of Information (Vancouver, British Columbia)
• University of Toronto, Faculty of Information (Toronto, Ontario)
• Western University, Faculty of Information & Media Studies (London, Ontario)
We hope to see you there!
