NEASIS&T and Simmons ASIS&T, with additional support from ASIS&T SIG-AI held its annual conference on March 25, 2022 online. The theme this year was With Great Power: AI and Equity. The event looked at equity considerations when creating and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and how we can be intentional about our use of artificial intelligence to do good and remove barriers. We thank all our presenters, event volunteers, and our attendees for making it a fantastic event. Curious about who presented? Here was the program: https://www.asist.org/2022/03/23/with-great-power-ai-and-equity-the-program/
For those who had registered, we’ve just sent out the recording to the emails you’ve used to register for the event. Thank you for your patience!
NEASIS&T was also a proud sponsor of the Research Data Management Librarian Academy Symposium (RDMLA), held on April 22, 2022. It is a one-day virtual event that discussed trending and times topics in Research Data Management.
We’re in the process of evaluating the Conference Support Award applications and hope to make an announcement soon. The recipients will receive a year-long membership in ASIS&T as well as their conference registration for the 2022 ASIS&T Annual Meeting.
We’re excited to have a new Digital Media & Communications Director join our board: Jennifer Sunoo from Simmons University. She’s bringing in wonderful new ideas on how to facilitate networking and on how to engage both current and potential members.
