Call for Applications: ARIST Editorial Board
Due February 11, 2022
The Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) is a collection of peer-reviewed, comprehensive, and systematic reviews on topics relevant to information science, computing science, technology studies, and related fields. Published under the banner of Wiley’s Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST), ARIST’s goal is to update readers on the latest developments in these fields. ARIST was published by the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) from 1966 to 2008; it relaunched in November 2021.
Under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief, Dr Lisa Given, ARIST will seek submissions starting in 2022 on various topics relevant to information science and technology, broadly defined. ARIST’s mandate is to be inclusive of research designs, methodologies, geographic regions, populations, socio-cultural contexts, and epistemological and philosophical approaches in its reviews. We are looking for Editorial Board members who reflect this diversity and who will help guide ARIST’s publishing focus.
Editorial Board positions are open for anyone with an advanced degree in information science, computer science, technology studies, and related fields. Preference will be given to those with strong publication profiles and experience writing and reviewing comprehensive review papers. Editorial Board members will identify potential topics and authors, review submissions, attend board meetings (online), and provide strategic advice to the Editor-in-Chief on ARIST’s development.
Please submit your CV and a brief (up to one page) expression of interest for the role, outlining your previous experience with comprehensive reviews, with peer review, and/or editorial experience, as well as your vision of ARIST as a venue for state-of-the-art reviews in information science and technology. Please email your application to arist@asist.org by 5pm ET, Friday, February 11, 2022.
