Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum
We are pleased to announce open registration for the second installment in the 2018 edition of our award-winning Summer of Tours! Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the world’s largest collection of cartoon and comic art! The Billy Ireland is one of the special collections libraries at The Ohio State University, and was founded in 1977 – making it one of the first institutions of its kind to collect this type of pop culture material. Associate Curator Caitlin McGurk will provide a history of the Billy Ireland and overview of their operations as guests explore the archive and museum galleries. Highlights include work by Charles Schulz (Peanuts) and Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes), Disney animation, manga (Japanese comics), and a chance to see the current MAD magazine and Koyama Press exhibitions.
The nearest place to park is the Ohio Union South Garage, which has paid visitor access. Visit the CampusParc website for more information.
