Deputy SIG Cabinet Director, Christopher Landbeck
Chris Landbeck earned his PhD from the School of Library and Information Studies at Florida State University. Before working with the SIG Cabinet, he was the Chair of SIGVIS, a member of the New Leaders Award, Nominations, and Membership Committees (Watson-Davis Award Jury), a student volunteer for the 2007 meeting, and a reviewer for several posters, papers, and tracks. His main focus is on the description of political cartoons for retrieval, and on the nature of information. He has taught several undergraduate courses centering on information science, research methods, information organization, and information visualization, as well as service leaning classes which apply the lessons taught in the classroom to real-world problems. He hopes to foster interaction between the various SIGs, helping to bridge gaps in scholarly research by connecting disparate interests.
