This issue is largely devoted to a special section on information architecture (IA). Stacy Surla, the Bulletinís associate editor for IA, solicited seven papers based on presentations at the 2006 IA Summit in Vancouver. She has selected some very fine efforts reflecting a wide variety of topics, both applied and theoretical. Together they offer a major contribution to our understanding of the current state of IA.

Our other feature article by Rafal Kasprowski of the University of Houston summarizes the history and current state of the efforts to develop systems that enable individual libraries and consortia to manage their electronic resources. The article reports on a session on electronic resource management (ERM) held at the 2005 ASIS&T Annual Meeting.
